Tonight's Game

The Oklahoma City RedHawks play game two of a four-game series against the Sacramento River Cats tonight at 9:05 p.m. CT at Raley Field in Sacramento...Tonight is game two of a 12-game road trip with an eight-game swing through the Pacific Southern Division... The RedHawks will visit Fresno for four games beginning Monday before visiting Nashville Friday through Monday...The 12-game trip is required because of the Big 12 Baseball Tournament at RedHawks Field at Bricktown, running Tuesday through Sunday...The RedHawks are coming off a 3-5 homestand against Tacoma (2-2) and Salt Lake (1-3)...The RedHawks enter tonight in fourth place in the American Southern Division, 7.0 games back of first place Round Rock...The Rivercats are in first place in the Pacific Southern Division, 3.5 games ahead of second place Las Vegas... Tonight RH Jordan Lyles will face River Cats RH Travis Banwart...

Tonight's Starting Pitchers

OKC starter Jordan Lyles makes his ninth start of 2011 tonight...The 20-year-old has made four quality starts in his last five appearances...On May 14 Lyles took a tough-luck loss, allowing two earned runs and seven hits in seven innings with no walks and four strikeouts...SAC starter Travis Banwart makes his eighth appearance and seventh start, posting a 1-2 record and 2.93 ERA (6th PCL) with 11 walks and 31 strikeouts...Banwart also ranks second in the PCL in WHIP (0.95) and opponent's average (.184)...Banwart was named the PCL Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 9-15...

Three RedHawks hit home runs while Nelson Figueroa allowed two runs over five innings for a winning decision leading the Oklahoma City RedHawks (18-22) to a 6-3 win over the Sacramento River Cats (26-15) before 5,977 Thursday night at Raley Field. Figueroa (1-0) allowed one hit and two walks over the first four innings, before giving up two runs in the fifth inning on a home run and a double play ground ball. The right-hander walked three in the game with four strikeouts in the winning decision. Graham Godfrey (4-1) took the loss after allowing three runs and four hits over three and two-thirds innings. Andy VanHekken (1) saved the game. Brandon Barnes, Brian Dopirak and Max Ramirez each hit home runs in the win...

RedHawks Streaking

RedHawks catcher Robinson Cancel has hit safely in 10 consecutive games, batting .316 (12x38) with 3 doubles and 1 HR... Cancel's streak is tied with Carlos Corporan's 10-game streak from April 7 through April 22 as the longest from any RedHawks hitter in 2011...Brian Dopirak has hit safely in five straight games (9x16), including three multi-hit efforts...

DeFrancesco, Inglett, Wolf Return to Sacramento

RedHawks manager Tony DeFrancesco spent seven seasons as manager of the Sacramento River Cats (2003-07, 2009-10), winning six division titles and three Pacific Coast League Championships...In 2003 DeFrancesco was named PCL Manager of the Year and Sporting News Minor League Manager of the Year after leading the River Cats to a 92-52 regular season record and a perfect 6-0 run through the PCL postseason...DeFrancesco spent all 16 of his previous managerial seasons in the Athletics organization (R-AZL Athletics 1994, SS-A Southern Oregon 1995-96, A+ Visalia 1997-98, AA Midland 1999-2002, AAA Sacramento 2003-07, 09-10)... OKC infielder Joe Inglett was born and raised in the Sacramento area, graduating from Mesa Verde High School in 1996...Reliever Ross Wolf pitched for Sacramento last year, making 10 appearances out of the bullpen for the River Cats...

Yesterday's win against Sacramento moved Oklahoma City to 9-2 in series-opening games...The RedHawks have posted only a 2-5-3 series record, with the only series wins coming April 23-26 at Round Rock and May 2-5 vs. Nashville...
