Fresno, California - Bryan Petersen drilled the third pitch of the game into the right-field seats and the Zephyrs pitching staff silenced the Fresno Grizzlies 2-0 in front of 9,383 fans at Chukchansi Park. The Zephyrs pitched their league leading sixth shutout of the season.

Todd Doolittle pitched five innings, allowed no runs on three hits and struck-out seven batters in his first start of the season. Doolittle replaced Jay Buente as the starting pitcher and found out he was starting just hours before game-time. The 28-year-old made his first start since 2009 and his 7th career start in 7 professional seasons.

Petersen drilled a lead-off home run for the second time this season and put the Zephyrs on the board 1-0. The Z's added a second run with a two out double from Josh Kroeger in the sixth inning. Matt Dominguez slapped a two out base-hit into rightfield for his first career Triple A RBI.

The Z's bullpen picked up Doolittle in the sixth inning. Garrett Parcell worked a scoreless inning and was assisted on a terrific defensive play from second baseman Joe Thurston to end the inning. Steven Cishek pitched two scoreless innings. Jose Ceda worked the ninth to earn his 12th save in 13 attempts.

The Zephyrs are 1-1 on their eight game west coast road-trip.
