WINSTON-SALEM, NC (APRIL 18, 2011) - Lillie's Friends Foundation and the Winston-Salem Dash have announced that the foundation's Third Annual "Got Friends - Family Festival will happen at BB&T Ballpark April 23. The festival features a 5K Run/Walk and the county's largest Easter Egg Hunt to raise money for the foundation and awareness of neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer.

The 5K Run/Walk begins at the ballpark at 9 a.m., with the rest of the festivities to follow from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Guests can pay $2 per person at the door for admission to enjoy face painting, inflatables, balloons, games, a silent auction, live entertainment and the Easter Egg Hunt that will feature 30,000 eggs containing prizes. The Dash Pack will also be on hand along with Bolt to entertain the crowd. Those wishing to attend the festival will enter through the BB&T Ballpark main gate in centerfield.

Registration for the 5K is $30 with proceeds from the race going to support the work of the foundation. The first 400 people to register will receive a T-Shirt. People can register through the foundation website, www.lilliesfriends.org .

Lillie's Friends Foundation is named after Lillie Boyte, who lost a battle with neuroblastoma four years ago, when she was only three years old. Neuroblastoma is an extremely aggressive childhood cancer that has about 700 new cases diagnosed each year. The cause is unknown, but experts believe it's an accidental growth that occurs during normal development of the sympathetic nervous system.

Lillie's parents, Cory and Michelle Boyte, started the Lillie's Friends Foundation to provide funding for research into the causes of neuroblastoma and support for families who incur large expenses associated with the treatment of the disease. The first "Got Friends - Festival was in 2009 and attracted over 1,000 participants.
