Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs shutout the Reading Phillies 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field before a crowd of 4,733. The Sea Dogs (2-2) split the opening four game series with the Reading Phillies (2-2).

Stephen Fife and two relievers combined to shutout the Phillies holding them to five hits. Fife (1-0) earned the win tossing five solid innings allowing three hits, walking one and recording one strike out.

Seth Garrison pitched two strong innings of relief holding the Phillies to two hits and a walk. Blake Maxwell (2) earned his second save of the season tossing two no-hit innings.

The Sea Dogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Tim Federowicz picked-up his fourth RBI of the Season with a sacrifice fly to right scoring Alex Hassan.

Will Middlebrooks continued his hot hitting with a lead-off triple to left field in the second inning and scored on Will Vazquez's ground out. Middlebrooks has now hit safely in all four games this season.

Reading starter Chris Kissock (0-1) suffered the loss yielding two runs on four hits in six innings of work.

The game took just 2:15 to complete.

The Portland Sea Dogs will welcome the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) to town for a three game series starting on Monday at 6:00 PM. Michael Lee will make his Double-A debut for the Sea Dogs. He'll be opposed by Trenton lefty Manny Banuelos; the fourth ranked prospect in the Yankees organization according to Baseball America. Monday is "Turn the Clock Ahead" night at the ballpark which will feature the Sea Dogs wearing Boston Red Sox uniforms and the Trenton Thunder in New York Yankees uniforms.
