Grizzlies Fall In Victoria

Victoria, British Columbia - The Victoria Salmon Kings broke a 1-1 second period tie with a four goal in 5:58 barrage and defeated the Utah Grizzlies (28-22-4-1) 6-2 Friday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Victoria took a 1-0 lead 7:43 into the first period and led 1-0 at the first intermission. That lead held for 26:49 before Utah tied the contest up. Paul Crowder crashed the net for his fifth of the year with Tom May and brother Tim Crowder picking up assists at 14:32 of the second period.

The tie held for just 15 seconds until the Grizzlies turned the puck over and the Salmon Kings stole the momentum from there.

Chris Donovan scored his sixth goal of the year unassisted 11:20 into the third period to make it 5-2.

Kyle Moir, in his professional debut stopped 22 of the first 23 shots he saw, before things started to go south.

Utah and the Salmon Kings meet again Saturday at 8:05 p.m. The Grizzlies return home Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5 to host Ontario at 7:05 p.m. each evening.
