Blades Make Roster Changes

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that goaltender Jaroslav Janus has been recalled by the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League and that the team has signed a pair of players from the Augusta RiverHawks of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

For Janus (pronounced: YAHN-is) the call-up is his fourth to the Admirals this season. During his last stint with Norfolk the 21-year-old made his first AHL appearance, earning a tie in a 7-6 overtime loss against the Charlotte Checkers on February 3.

With the Everblades this season Janus has seen action in 25 games, posting an 11-12-0 record with a 3.03 goals against average.

A 6th round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2009, Janus began the 2009-10 campaign by seeing action in 13 games with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League where he posted a record of 7-4-2 with a 2.81 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. The Presov, Slovakia native finished out the year playing in 13 games with the Admirals where he was 7-6-0 with a 2.07 GAA and a .922 save percentage.

The Everblades also announced today that they have signed goaltender Adam Avramenko and defenseman Joe Tolles to contracts.

Avramenko joins the Everblades having split the 2010-11 season between Fayetteville and Augusta in the SPHL. The 24-year-old is a combined 9-7-0 with a 3.68 goals against average and a .884 save percentage in 16 games with Fayetteville and Augusta.

Most recently with the RiverHawks the Strathmore, Alberta native saw action in 10 games posting a 6-4-0 record with a 3.51 GAA and a .875 save percentage. Prior to turning pro this season Avramenko finished up a three-year collegiate career at Niagara University.

Tolles (pronounced: TOLLS) joins the Everblades having seen action in eight games with the RiverHawks this season posting one goal and four assists. The 22-year-old made his professional debut this season after skating last year at the collegiate level in Canada with Brock University where he notched eight points (5g, 3a) in 28 games.

Prior to last season the 6-foot, 180 pound native of Toledo, Ohio spent five seasons at the junior level with Helena of the NAHL, Moncton of the QMJHL and Omaha of the USHL from 2004-09.

The Everblades return to action on Saturday, February 26 when they travel to South Carolina to take on the Stingrays at 7:05 p.m. from the North Charleston Coliseum.
