Jackals Sign Siers, Sloane

The Elmira Jackals announced on Friday that they have signed forward Billy Siers and defenseman David Sloane to standard player contracts.

Siers, a rookie from Mount Prospect, Illinois, is seventh on the Battle Creek Revolution (AAHL) with 25 points (9g-16a) and is fourth on the club with 77 penalty minutes. He spent the last four seasons at Lawrence University (NCAA, D-III) in Appleton, Wis., totaling 37 points (20g-17a) to go along with 117 penalty minutes.

Sloane, who is in his second professional season, played seven games earlier in 2010-2011 with the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Ambler, Pa. native skated 20 games last season with the AHL's Adirondack Phantoms, garnering an assist along with 23 penalty minutes. Sloane also skated five games with the Kalamazoo Wings in 2009-2010, registering two assists.

In 2008-2009, Sloane played a game in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers after finishing out his eligibility at Colgate University (NCAA, D-1). At Colgate, Sloane recorded 23 points (10g-13a) and 100 penalty minutes over four seasons.
