Falcons Sign Tarnasky to PTO Contract

The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they have signed forward Nick Tarnasky to a Professional Tryout Agreement. The Falcons also announced they have released goaltender Dan Taylor from his Professional Tryout Agreement.

Tarnasky is in his seventh professional season and returns to Springfield after having played with the Falcons from 2004-2006 where he collected 21 goals, 19 assists, 40 points and 276 penalty minutes in 148 games. The 6-foot-2, 224-pound native of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta started the 2010-11 campaign playing for the ECHL's Florida Everblades collecting one goal and two assists in three games.

Tarnasky is a veteran of 401 career pro games, including 153 AHL games and 245 NHL contests. He has spent time with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers in the NHL. Tarnasky started his pro career with Springfield, while also seeing time with the Rochester Americans in the AHL.

Taylor played in four games for the Falcons posting a record of 2-2 with a 2.35 goals against average and .929 save percentage. Taylor helped lead the Falcons to a 5-1 opening night win in Providence stopping 38 of 39 shots on October 8.
