Montgomery Biscuits News Release

JACKSON, TN - Jeremy Hall threw 5.2 scoreless innings and the Biscuits (59-51) clubbed 18 hits, smashing the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx (58-53) by a final score of 9-1 Saturday at Pringles Park.

John Matulia led the way with four hits. Drew Anderson and Matt Fields each contributed three hits, and three others recorded two hits on the night.

The scoring started in the third when Nevin Ashley singled home Emeel Salem with two outs. They'd add three in the sixth, two in the seventh, and three in the ninth to complete the largest run output in nearly a month.

Hall gave up a single to Brandon Haveman to begin the ballgame, and the Jaxx loaded the bases in the frame without scoring. Hall would then go until the sixth without surrendering a hit. He struck out seven and walked two, allowing only three hits.

The lone Jaxx run of the night came when Carlos Truinfel singled home Joe Dunigan against Paul Phillips in the seventh.

West Tenn starter Anthony Vasquez (0-2) was knocked around for four runs (one earned) on ten hits. The Biscuits added five runs against relievers Robert Rohrbaugh and Nick Hill.

With the win, the Biscuits snapped a three-game win-streak and are now only 3.0 games out of first in the South.

RHP Justin Garcia will make his first pro start on Sunday at 2:05 against West Tenn's RHP Steve Bray.
