Mobile, Ala. - The road-weary Jacksonville Suns (64-48, 24-18) dropped a 7-4 final to the Mobile BayBears (60-49, 24-17), moving the BayBears a half-game ahead of the Suns in the South Division, in front of 2,549 Saturday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Mobile starter Bryan Henry (5-3) picked up the win, giving up an unearned run and two hits over a six inning appearance. Jeff Allison (6-7) was charged with the losing decision, giving up seven runs and eleven hits over four and two-thirds innings.

Mobile opened the scoring in the first inning when Ollie Linton singled and scored on a two-out, infield single by Konrad Schmidt for a 1-0 score. The BayBears made it a 3-0 game when Linton belted a two-out, two-run home run to right field in the second inning.

The teams traded fourth inning runs. Tim Torres reached on a fielding error by the shortstop and moved to second on an errant pickoff throw before scoring on a John Otness double for a 3-1 game. Mobile answered with an Evan Frey sacrifice fly to score Jake Elmore for a 4-1 score.

Mobile added three runs in the fifth inning. Bryan Byrne led off with a double and later scored on a two-out single by pitcher Bryan Henry for a 5-1 BayBears lead. Frey next beat out an infield single, but lead runner Taylor Harbin rounded third base, drawing a throw back to third. Harbin broke for the plate and beat the relay for a 6-1 Mobile lead. Collin Cowgill later drew a two-out, bases loaded walk from reliever Brad Stone for a 7-1 score.

Jacksonville rallied for two runs in the eighth inning, a Matt Dominguez RBI double and Tim Torres RBI single, before scoring in the ninth on an Ozzie Martinez sacrifice fly for a 7-4 final.
