
Cleveland Sports History Night to Highlight 9 Game Homestand

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, return home for a season-high nine-game home stand beginning Wednesday against the Burlington Bees, an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The Captains will face the Bees for three games, the Peoria Chiefs (Chicago Cubs affiliate) for three games and the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers affiliate) for the final three games of the series.
Wednesday is "Feed Your Face" night. For only $18, fans receive a game ticket and all-you-can-eat hot dogs, fries, onion rings, popcorn and chips. Game time is 7:00 PM.
Thursday is a special 11 AM start and it is Camp Day at Classic Park.
Friday is a 7 PM start and is a Fireworks Friday Night presented by Plevin and Gallucci. Fans will enjoy a post-game fireworks extravaganza and a pre-game concert by The Girls Band. It is Girl Scout Night at the Park as well.
Saturday at 7 PM marks the return of the award winning "Salute to Cleveland Sports History Night". The inaugural event was named ESPN the Magazine's Minor League Promotion of the Year for 2009. The night will include Cleveland Sports history-themed on-field promotions, appearances and autograph sessions by Cleveland sports legends, and 10-cent beer being served for an hour prior to the game. Sports legends scheduled to appear include: former Indians Mike Hargrove, Dave Burba, Joe Charboneau, Len Barker, and Kevin Rhomberg. Former Cavalier Larry Nance, former Browns wide receiver Brian Brennan; local product and former Notre Dame and NFL running back Tony Fisher, 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist in the 100M and 110M hurdles who grew up in Cleveland, Harrison Dillard and former Force and Crunch soccer star Hector Marinaro will also attend.
Saturday is also a "Silent Auction Saturday" giving fans the opportunity to bid on various pieces of baseball memorabilia in a silent auction as well as purchase raffle tickets for other prizes. Proceeds will go to the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland and Captains Charities. A fireworks show will follow the 7 PM game presented by Discount Drug Mart.
Sunday is a special 6 PM game and is Christmas in July and Classic Park will be decorated accordingly and Great Lakes Christmas Ale will be served. The First 1,500 fans will receive a Skipper Leg Bobble Lamp Presented by Winking Lizard & Joshen Paper. The Captains third annual pre-game Catholic Mass will take place at 4:15 as part of Faith Night presented by 95.5 the FISH. Gates open at 3:30 PM. There will be a Toys for Tots Toy Drive that night where fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game and receive a voucher for a $5 ticket for any remaining Monday - Thursday home game during the 2010 regular season.
Snoopy will also appear at Classic Park on Sunday courtesy of Cedar Point as part of a Family Fun Sunday presented by Andrews Osborne Academy which features a pre-game player autograph session, lots of concourse entertainment and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. In addition, kids who are part of Skipper's Lil' Buddies Club will have the opportunity to announce players over the public address system and sit in the radio booth during the game.
June 26 is PNC Buck Night, featuring 50-cent hot dogs and a $1 concession menu that includes fries, popcorn, onion rings, fountain soda and ten ounce domestic draft beer. Monday will be the first Bark in the Park night presented by Purina Dog Chow. For $5, fans can bring their canine companions to the game and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Lake Humane Society and the Cleveland Animal Protective League. It is Slovenian Heritage Night as well. Game time is 7:00 PM
After a day off on July 27, the Captains will host another "Feed Your Face" night on July 28. For only $18, fans receive a game ticket and all-you-can-eat hot dogs, fries, onion rings, popcorn and chips. Game time is 7:00 PM.
July 29 is "Thirsty Thursday" presented by ESPN 850 WKNR. The night will feature a nickel beer Happy Hour for one hour before game time and half price draft beer and soda until 9 PM. Thursday night's are also "Military ID Nights" all season long, presented by Lake County Speedway. Military members, their family and friends will receive $5 box seat tickets with a valid military ID. The Captains will offer a pizza and wing buffet for only $10 which is located by the Corona Castaway's Bar.
The home stand concludes Friday, July 30 with German Heritage night presented by Hofbrauhaus Munchen beer. The First 1,500 fans will receive Captains logo Fathead tradeables presented by Time Warner Cable. A fireworks extravaganza follows the 7 PM game, presented by Plevin and Gallucci.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Fans may visit CaptainsBaseball.com for information on alternate routes to and from Classic Park during the current construction that is taking place on Route 91. The Captains are working with the City of Eastlake and ODOT to ensure the smoothest possible traffic flow for fans attending games at Classic Park until the construction is completed.
