Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
The PawSox turned in a lackluster performance in Lehigh Valley on Monday night, falling to the Iron Pigs 8-2. In sweltering heat that topped out at 98 degrees during the game, Pawtucket didn't get their first hit until there was one out in the sixth inning. Drew Carpenter got the win to improve to 7-6. Fabio Castro made the start in place of Felix Doubront and didn't make it out of the third inning. The lefty (3-6) suffered his second loss of the season to the Pigs.
Andy Tracy clobbered a Grand Slam off Castro in the fourth. The Pigs scored four more runs in the seventh. Blake Maxwell made his Triple-A debut in relief for the PawSox, going 3.2 innings. Josh Reddick and Bubba Bell drove in the only runs for the PawSox..
The series continues on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. Kris Johnson (3-6, 4.94) faces Brandon Duckworth (2-3, 4.26).
