SOUTH BEND, Ind. - RHPs Daniel Sarria, Drew Miller and Robert Poutier delivered a combined two-hit shutout as the TinCaps rolled over the South Bend Silver Hawks, 4-0, Tuesday at Coveleski Stadium. Nate Freiman pounded a two-run double.

Miller stole the show in his first regular-season appearance since 2008. The right-hander worked three perfect innings, striking out five. He missed 2009 with a strained elbow.

Sarria was a close second, dealing five shutout frames in his first start since signing with the Padres in November.

The TinCaps took the lead in the top of the 4th when Jon Alia lifted a sacrifice fly to right. Griffin Benedict raced to the plate, bowled over Silver Hawks catcher Jae Yun Kim to jar the ball loose and scored the game's first run.

In the 5th, Fort Wayne mounted a two-out rally. Freiman lined a 1-2 pitch over the center fielder's head to plate a pair of runs and make it 3-0. Benedict followed with a single to right to score Freiman and stretch the lead to 4-0.

The pitching staff took it from there, retiring the final 13 Silver Hawks hitters to come to the plate.

Sarria notched the win in his first decision of the year while Silver Hawks RHP Scott Allen was saddled with the loss in his Midwest League debut.

The win means the TinCaps have their first true win streak of the year, winning three in a row to improve to 18-21. South Bend fell to 17-23.

The TinCaps and Silver Hawks (Class-A Arizona Diamondbacks) finish the three-game set Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Coveleski Stadium. Fort Wayne RHP John Hussey (3-1) goes to the mound against Silver Hawks RHP Brad Gemberling (0-0), who makes his South Bend debut.
