
PawSox drop opening game of series to Gwinnett

The Gwinnett Braves scored three runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to seal a come-from-behind 7-6 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox on Saturday night at Coolray Field in Georgia.
The PawSox jumped on the board early by scoring 4 runs on 5 hits in the 1st inning. Jorge Jimenez went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI, while Tug Hulett was 1-for-5 with 2 RBI. Newcomer, Lars Anderson got his first hit in a PawSox uniform also. Braves pither Ryan Reynoso settled down from there. Cristhian Martinez got the win for the Braves.
Starter Kris Johnson pitched five innings and allowed 3 runs while striking out 2 and walking 2, but Cabrera (0-3) blew the save and took the loss for Pawtucket by giving up 3 runs in 0.1 IP.
The PawSox play Gwinnett again on Sunday in the second game of a four-game series starting at 7:05 p.m. at Coolray Field.
Braves RHP Tim Gustafson (1-1, 6.75 ERA) is scheduled to face LHP Fabio Castro (0-1, 8.10 ERA) of the PawSox.
