Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, announced G Jeremie Dupont has been signed to an Amateur Try-Out (ATO). To make room on the roster, G Tyler Sims has been released.
Dupont, 21, recently completed his senior year with the University of Nebraska-Omaha of the CCHA. In four seasons with the Mavericks, the 6-foot, 3-inch, 180-pound Dupont went 27-29-13, with a 2.96 goals-against average and a.889 save percentage. As a freshman in 2006-07, Dupont finished 13-10-6. For his efforts, he was named honorable mention CCHA all-rookie team and the Mavericks' Rookie of the Year. Dupont has twice been named to the CCHA scholar-athlete team. A native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Dupont played two seasons with the Aurora Tigers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League under the tutelage of his coach, father and former NHL player Jerome Dupont.
Sims, 24, went 2-1-0 in four games with the Condors, with a 2.62 GAA and.917 save percentage. In his debut with Bakersfield on Feb. 14, Sims pitched a 26-save shutout. The Condors claimed Sims off waivers on Feb. 12 after he had split the beginning of the season between Elmira of the ECHL and Mississippi of the CHL.
