Springfield Armor News Release

SPRINGFIELD, MA March 5, 2010 - The Springfield Armor today announced that they have waived Tony Bobbitt from their roster. As of now the Armor have no replacement and will currently play with an nine man roster as newly acquired Corey Minnifield, who filled injured JamesOn Curry's roster spot, joins the team for this week's West Coast road trip.

Bobbit, who was just recently added to the Armor roster on February 16th, injured his ankle in the first half of Wednesday's game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Unfortunately for the Armor, Bobbitt's injury is a season ending one.

"We are extremely disappointed in losing Tony to injury." said Armor Head Coach Dee Brown, "He had both the scoring ability and added an extra element of passion to this team that we needed."

The Armor begin their road trip this weekend facing the Utah Flash on Saturday night at 9 p.m. EST and take on the Reno Bighorns on Sunday at 8 p.m. EST.

The next Armor home game is on Tuesday, March 16th as Springfield faces Albuquerque in their "Irish Heritage Knight" at 7 p.m. at the MassMutual Center. Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased by logging on to www.armorhoops.com or by visiting the MassMutual Center Box Office. Box Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9-5, Saturday, 10- 4.
