San Jose Sharks Recall Left Wing Jamie McGinn And Center Logan Couture From Worcester

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled left wing Jamie McGinn and center Logan Couture from the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

McGinn has played in nine games with San Jose this season, posting one goal and six penalty minutes. With Worcester, he has posted five points (3-25) and a +5 plus/minus rating in four games. McGinn figured in on the game-winning goal (1-12) in each of his last two games for Worcester prior to his recall on Oct. 25, both coming in overtime.

The six-foot, 185-pound native of Fergus, Ontario native was originally selected by San Jose in the second round (36th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Couture, 20, made his NHL debut on Oct. 25 at Philadelphia. He picked up his first NHL point on Nov. 1 at Carolina, assisting on Brad Staubitz's game-winning goal.

Playing in his first full season as a professional, Couture was tied for first among AHL rookies with 10 points (4-610) thru seven games, which is tied for sixth overall in the league at the time of his Oct. 25 recall. He has a five-game point streak intact and has scored three game-winning goals on the season, including an overtime tally vs. Springfield.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario native was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (9th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
