Kamloops Blazers News Release
Week in Review:
Friday, October 30, 2009 vs. Chilliwack Bruins
Scott Ferguson made his debut behind the Blazers bench and he couldn't rally the troops as the Blazers fell to the Bruins 7-1. Chilliwack jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a solid first period. To start the second, Jon Groenheyde was pulled from the Blazers goal and in came Justin Leclerc. Nothing seemed to change though as the Bruins kept scoring and the Blazers kept being shut down by both of the Bruins goaltenders. The lone goal scorer for the Blazers was Matej Bene with his first career WHL goal. The hockey team was 1-for-8 on the powerplay and only 3-for-5 on the penalty kill. Final shots on goal in this game were tied at 34 apeice. The Blazers record drops to 8-8-2-0.
