Kitchener Rangers News Release


The Kitchener Rangers Head Coach and General Manager Steve Spott announced today that the team has completed a trade with the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors.

In the deal the Rangers acquired the Majors 45th Overall Selection in the 2009 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft. In return Kitchener sends a 5th round pick in the 2012 Ontario Hockey League Draft.

Rangers Select Patrik Andersson in Import Draft

The Kitchener Rangers Head Coach and General Manager Steve Spott announced this morning that the team has selected Swedish defenseman Patrik Andersson with the 45th overall selection in the 2009 CHL Import Draft.

A native of Norrtalje, Sweden, Andersson played 36 games last season with Brynas in the Swedish Junior League registering 7 goals and 24 points.

Scouts describe Andersson as a big puck moving defenseman who is strong at both ends of the ice.
