
Cyclones Battle Wheeling In OPening Round of Playoffs!

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones (41-26-5) of the ECHL will take on the Wheeling Nailers (36-28-8) in the North Division semifinals, beginning next week at U.S. Bank Arena. The series is a best-of-seven, that starts in Cincinnati on Thursday night (April 9) and Friday night (April 10), both games are at 7:30pm. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate for the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators of the NHL.
The Cyclones secured the North Division title by claiming a 6-0 win over Johnstown. The Nailers will host games three, four and five (if needed) in the best of seven series. Those games will all be carried on MAX-FM (97.7 and 99.5). Wheeling plays its home games at WesBanco Arena and those contests will be played on April 11, 15 and 17.
Should the sixth and/or seventh game be necessary, they would be played at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, April 18 and Monday, April 20, both nights at 7:30pm.
This will be the first time that the Cyclones and Wheeling have met in the Kelly Cup playoffs. This season, Cincinnati posted a 5-6 record against the Nailers. All-time, Cincinnati has a 28-29-5 mark against their foes from West Virginia. Under Chuck Weber, the Cyclones are 21-13 against the Nailers.
For fans holding tickets to all playoff games, Game A is for Game One on Thursday, April 9. The Game B ticket is for the game on Friday, April 10. If Game Six is needed, Game C would be the ticket needed for Saturday, April 18. Should Game Seven of the series be necessary, Game D would be for that Monday, April 20 contest. Tickets not used in this round will serve as the first tickets needed for future games.
