Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (33-31-8, 74 Points) defeated the Stockton Thunder (32-32-7, 71 Points) 4-0 in front of 4,828 fans on Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Las Vegas goalie John DeCaro made 25 saves for his second shutout and 11th win of the season. Wranglers forward Kevin DeVergilio scored twice in his professional debut. Forwards Adam Miller and Hugo Carpentier also tallied for Las Vegas as the Wranglers improved to 21-12-2 at home this season. Stockton goalie Andrew Perugini stopped 32 of 36 shots in the Thunder loss. Las Vegas will play Stockton again Saturday at 7:30 PM.
Las Vegas opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 6:15 of the first period. Forward Adam Miller tapped in his 13th goal of the season for the 1-0 Wranglers lead. At 15:00 of the first, Hugo Carpentier padded the Las Vegas lead to 2-0. Forwards Dan Riedel and Tim Spencer set up Carpentier's ninth goal of the season.
At 2:39 of the second period, forward Kevin DeVergilio tallied his first professional career goal. DeVergilio knocked in a rebound to put Las Vegas up 2-0. Forward Garrett Regan and defenseman Sean Owens picked up the assists on the goal.
Kevin DeVergilio snapped in his second goal of the game at 13:36 of the third period. Mick Lawrence picked up the lone assist to give the Wranglers the 4-0 win.
Las Vegas will conclude the regular season Saturday, April 4th, hosting the Stockton Thunder at 7:30 PM.
