
Lightning Recall RW Steve Downie and G Karri Ramo from the Admirals

TAMPA BAY, FL - Tampa Bay Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced today that the Lightning have recalled forward Steve Downie from the Admirals. In addition, the Lightning announced that they have recalled goaltender Karri Ramo from the Admirals on an emergency basis.
Downie, a 5-foot-10, 192-pound native of Newmarket, Ontario, skated in Friday's game in Norfolk against Lake Erie, posting an assist and seven penalty minutes. He now has eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points in 19 games with Norfolk this season. When combined with his four games with the Philadelphia Phantoms earlier this season, Downie has nine goals and 24 assists for 33 points in 23 AHL games in 2008-09. For his AHL career, Downie has 14 goals and 41 assists for 55 points in 45 games between Norfolk and Philadelphia.
Downie was acquired by the Lightning from the Philadelphia Flyers on November 7. He has two goals and one assist with 20 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Lightning this season. The 21-year-old has appeared in 18 NHL games this season between the Lightning and Flyers, scoring two goals and one assist with 31 penalty minutes. Downie has appeared in 50 career NHL games between Tampa Bay and Philadelphia, recording eight goals and 15 points with 104 penalty minutes. He also appeared in six games with the Flyers during the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs, registering one assist and ten penalty minutes.
Ramo, a 6-foot-2, 207-pound goaltender in his third professional season, has gone 7-14-4 with Norfolk this season, posting a 3.78 goals-against average and .884 save percentage. In 77 career AHL games between Norfolk and the Springfield Falcons, he has posted a 24-42-5 record with a 3.38 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage.
Ramo has appeared in three games with Tampa Bay this season, going 1-1-0 with a 4.86 goals-against average and .868 save percentage. In 27 career NHL games, Ramo has posted an 8-12-3 record with a .893 save percentage and a 3.23 goals-against average.
The Admirals' nine-game homestand will conclude this week with a pair of contests against the Albany River Rats. The puck drops on Thursday and Friday at Scope at 7:15 p.m.
