Richardson Joins Monarchs On Conditioning Stint

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned center Brad Richardson to the Monarchs for conditioning, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Richardson, 23, has played in nine games with the Kings this season and has one assist and seven penalty minutes. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound native of Belleville, Ontario, is returning from a foot injury. He played parts of the three previous seasons in the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche. In 136 games with the Avalanche, Richardson has 40 points (19-21=40) and 48 penalty minutes. When not in Colorado's lineup, he was playing for their AHL affiliate each season in Lowell (2005-06), Albany (2006-07) and Lake Erie (2007-08). Richardson has 58 points (18-40=58) and 40 penalty minutes in 70 AHL games. Prior to turning pro, he played four years with Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack. Selected by Colorado in the fifth round (163rd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Richardson was traded to the Kings from the Avalanche for a second round selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft on June 21, 2008.
