Montreal Recalls Greg Stewart From Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Greg Stewart has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Stewart, 22, has played in all 40 of the Bulldogs' games this season accumulating 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) while leading the club in penalty minutes with 131. Last season, the native of Kitchener, Ontario competed in one game with the Canadiens, recording no points and five penalty minutes. In 69 games with Hamilton in 2007-2008, Stewart registered 17 points (10 goals, seven assists) and led the team in penalty minutes with 137. The 6-foot-1, 201-pound left wing was Montreal's 8th round, 246th overall selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The 'Dogs continue the celebration of their 1000th game on Friday, January 16th when they host the Lake Erie Monsters for a 7:30 p.m. match-up at Copps Coliseum. Fans can listen to every Bulldogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
