
Worcester Sharks Announce First Annual High School Hockey Clash

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today that the Worcester Sharks will be hosting the 1st Annual High School Hockey Clash between the Auburn Rockets and the Hudson Hawks at 4p.m. before the Worcester Sharks battle the Lowell Devils on Saturday, January 3, at the DCU Center.
The 60+ year rivals will face-off at 4p.m. after the Alumni game slated at 2:15p.m. on the DCU Center Ice before the Sharks host the Devils at 7:05p.m. Tickets are just $10.50 when purchased in advance by contacting the Worcester Sharks Front Office at 508.929.0500 or by crashing the net at www.sharksahl.com. Tickets will gain you admission into both games on Saturday, January 3rd. Doors will open at 2p.m. for the hockey doubleheader.
"We are extremely excited about playing one of our biggest rivals on the DCU Center Ice," said Mike Nanartowich, the Head Coach of the Hudson Hawks. "We would like to thank the Worcester Sharks for this great opportunity."
"We will be pumped up and ready to play," said Glen Bombard, the Head Coach of the Auburn Rockets. "The Rockets are expecting a large turnout for this game. It should be a lot of fun."
"The Worcester Sharks are proud to showcase two of the elite schools in the Massachusetts area," said Lehr. "The 1st Annual High School Hockey Clash will have all the bells and whistles of a regular Sharks game. We expect a large turnout for the game and look forward to the possibility of hosting more games like this in the future."
Hudson defeated Auburn 3-2 on December 17th in the semi-finals of the Auburn Tournament with Andrew Arbour scoring a power play goal with just 30 seconds remaining in the third period to give the Hawks the victory.
The Sharks will also be hosting the 2nd Annual High School Hockey Classic between the St. John's Pioneers and the St. Peter-Marian Guardians at 4p.m. before the Worcester Sharks host the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday, January 31 at the DCU Center.
