THIS WEEK'S GAMES
The Houston Aeros, after a 2-0-0-2 week, have moved into fourth place in the West Division and only two points behind first with a record of 15-10-1-5. The Aeros are 10-0-1-2 against division opponents so far this season and play a three-in-three this weekend against the West. Houston's current streak against the West stands at 15 games (12-0-1-2) including the final two games of the 2007-08 regular season. The Aeros host the San Antonio Rampage this Friday before hitting the road for Saturday and Sunday contests in Quad City and Peoria.
Friday night is the Aeros' annual Bikini Contest where a new Ms. Aeros will be crowned for 2009. The first 3,000 fans entering the building will receive Aeros' cowbells to help cheer the team on. The Rampage make their second visit to Toyota Center this season for the 7:35 p.m. contest. So far this season the Aeros have won all three contests by a combined score of 15-10. The first meeting in Houston set a franchise record for most combined goals in a game when the Aeros won 8-6.
Houston will travel to take on the Quad City Flames at 7:05 p.m. Saturday night in the second meeting of the season, first in Moline. Houston won the first pairing 4-1 at Toyota Center despite being out-shot 34-19 in the contest. Last season, Quad City's first in the league, the Aeros posted a 2-2-0-0 road record and was 3-4-0-1 overall.
On back-to-back Sundays the Aeros will play at Peoria having lost this past Sunday's contest 4-3 in a shootout. Overall, Houston now holds a 15-11-1-2 record against the Rivermen. Houston was 6-2-0-0 last season against Peoria with a perfect 4-0-0-0 record on the road. The Aeros out-scored the Rivermen 24-14 in the season series. The puck drops at 5 p.m.
After the pair of Illinois games, the Aeros return to Houston for Tuesday's game against the Lake Erie Monsters is the annual Guns and Hoses Night.The 7:05 p.m. game will honor our city's Police Officers and Firefighters and will feature a tug-of-war contest on the ice and the winning team will win a cash prize for a charity of their choice. Fans are asked to help sponsor these men and women who serve our community to ensure they are able to attend the game designed for them.

Houston's Marco Rosa tallied five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in four games played last week and is currently riding a three game point/goal streak. He is just one game shy of his career best-point streak he set earlier this season at four games.
The Houston Aeros were defeated by the Milwaukee Admirals 2-1 in a shootout Wednesday night at Bradley Center. Aeros' goaltender Barry Brust stopped 26 of 27 shots in regulation before being replaced by Nolan Schaefer in the shootout. Schaefer stopped three of five shots, but only one Aero was able to score on five chances in the shootout. Mike Hamilton netted the lone goal for the Aeros and Alexander Sulzer scored the Admirals' only tally in regulation.
The Houston Aeros fell behind 2-0 early but mounted a comeback for a 4-3 shootout win in Rockford, Friday night. Houston's Marco Rosa netted the game-tying and shootout-winning goals for the Aeros first shootout win of the season. Rockford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. The third period had the rest of the scoring and ended with the teams tied 3-3. two of three Houston shooters scored while only one of Rockford's found the back of the net in the shootout.
The Houston Aeros took a 2-1 decision against West Division-rival Rockford IceHogs Saturday night, moving Houston into a four-way tie for second in the division. The Aeros earned four points with back-to-back wins over the IceHogs.
The Houston Aeros scored three unanswered goals to comeback from a three-goal deficit before losing in a shootout 4-3 to the Peoria Rivermen Sunday evening. Corey Locke tallied the game-tying goal with just 29 seconds remaining to force the overtime and ensure a point for the Aeros. Houston extended their point streak to nine games with the shootout loss (5-0-0-4) and sits all alone in fourth place in the West Division with a record of 15-10-1-5.
