Spokane Indians News Release
SPOKANE, WA - The Spokane Indians took care of business Tuesday night, defeating the Tri-City Dust Devils 7-0 and extending their lead in the Northwest League East to six games over the Boise Hawks. The Hawks lost 3-1 to Yakima tonight in Boise.
The Indians bats were hot and the bullpen was even hotter. Spokane scored six of their seven runs in the first two innings. The seventh came in the 7th inning on a solo homerun by third baseman Matt West, his fourth on the season. Shortstop Jacob Kaase and leftfielder Joey Butler each finished the night with three RBI each.
Spokane's starter Neil Ramirez was near flawless in four innings, allowing only three hits, no runs while striking out seven. It was reliever Juan Peralta that picked up the win, pitching two innings and allowing just one hit.
The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow for the second of the three game homestand against Tri-City. Tomorrow night is Fiesta Night presented by the Azteca Mexican Restaurants and KQUP RTN 24. Immediately following the game, we will shoot off Fireworks presented by The Black Book from Hagadone Directories.
