Ian Harrington won his third straight start, and the Yakima Bears pounded 12 hits in a 3-1 win over the Boise Hawks at Memorial Stadium Tuesday night.
Harrington pitched five shutout innings, scattering four hits with one walk and three strikeouts to improve to 6-5 on the season. Wade Miley pitched two scoreless innings of relief, with two strikeouts. Daniel Vasquez pitched a perfect eighth, but gave up a solo homerun to Ryan Keedy leading off the ninth. He recorded the next two outs, before Jordan Meaker came in for a one-out save.
The Bears scored first on a two-out RBI single by Jhoan Pimentel in the fourth. Yakima made it 3-0 in the fourth on an RBI single by Andrew Fie and a sacrifice fly by Greg Bordes. Justin Parker and Brendan Duffy each had three hits, with Parker doubling twice and scoring two runs. The Bears will take on the Hawks Wednesday night at 6:15 p.m. in the second of a three-game set, with Sean Morgan on the mound for Yakima.
