Oklahoma City Comets News Release

LAST GAME: Ryan Roberts keyed a comeback and a walk-off win as Oklahoma outlasted Albuquerque 4-3 in 13 innings. The RedHawks got a strong start form Tommy Hunter, who pitched nine full innings and allowed just two runs along the way. The Isotopes were game however, with starter Bobby Keppel surrendering just two runs as well over eight innings. Tag Bozied gave the 'Topes a 3-2 lead in the top of the 12 with a solo home run, but Roberts answered with a solo shot of his own in the home half of the inning to help send the game another inning. Yukinaga Maeda allowed a leadoff double in the 13th, but induced a ground out and struck out the final two batters to get out of the inning. After a single and a pair of intentional walks loaded the bases in the bottom of the 13th, Roberts singled to left field for the victory.

WALK-OFF WINS:

All four of Oklahoma's walk-off wins have come with a 4-3 final score. In addition to last night's heroics, Ryan Roberts also factored in the first walk-off victory of the year , a 4-3 win over Memphis on opening night. Joaquin Arias has been the key factor in the other two walk-off wins, stealing home in Oklahoma's 4-3 win over Nashville on June 10, and hitting a two-run home run in the 12th inning of the RedHawks 4-3 victory against Round Rock on June 24.

50 WINS:

The RedHawks are one of five teams with 50 wins or more in the PCL this season. All four division leaders (including Iowa, Salt Lake, and Sacramento) have reached the 50-win plateau, as has Memphis, which beat New Orleans last night for its 50th victory. It took Oklahoma 92 games to reach the 50-win mark this season after taking 99 games last season (50-49).

HARRISON GOES TO THE BIG LEAGUES:

Matt Harrison was recalled by Texas earlier today and will start tonight against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The southpaw was slated to make his seventh Triple-A start for Oklahoma this evening, but injury problems in the Rangers rotation forced the change of venue for his appearance tonight. Harrison went 3-1 over six starts for the RedHawks with a 3.55 ERA, striking out 20 and walking 14 over 38 innings pitched. Harrison was acquired from Atlanta in the Mark Teixeira deal last year and will make his Major League debut tonight in Arlington.

ALBUQUERQUE AT A GLANCE:

Dallas McPherson went 0-4 with a run batted in last night and saw his 30-game on base streak snapped. The Isotopes third baseman had reached safely in every game since June 3. The 30-game streak matched the second longest on-base streak in the PCL this season, trailing only Colby Rasmus' 35 game run for Memphis from May 21 through June 28, and matched Matt Brown's streak for Salt Lake... Bobby Keppel has now factored in the decision in 15 of his 17 starts this season. Both of his no-decisions have come at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION:

Texas lost 9-6 to the LA Angels... Frisco lost 12-5 to Arkansas... Bakersfield fell 4-1 to Lake Elsinore... Clinton dropped a 15-0 final to Burlington... Spokane beat Eugene 6-3.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

Nelson Cruz is two home runs shy of tying for tenth place in Oklahoma City Triple-A history (Scott Sheldon- 28 in 1999)... Tommy Hunter's nine inning outing last night was the longest this season by any Redhawk starting pitcher... With one walk last night, Ryan Roberts moved into a tie for fourth in the PCL with 52 free passes this season. Roberts is now tied with the Isotopes Dallas McPherson... Joaquin Arias had Monday off to rest his right shoulder after having played four straight games at shortstop.
