NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return to Greer Stadium this Friday, July 11 for a weekend homestand against the New Orleans Zephyrs (AAA-Mets).

The Sounds packed a lot of action into the upcoming three-day weekend, with four games occurring over that span and several promotions taking place each night at Greer Stadium.

The first game of the series will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Friday marks another Purity Faith Night for the Sounds, with a pre-game concert at 5:30 p.m. featuring recording artist and former major league all-star pitcher Kent Bottenfield. In addition, a dazzling fireworks display will fill the sky immediately following the game.

IHOP's Discover America Road Tour will also be on hand all weekend as an IHOP-branded recreational vehicle (RV) will make a stop at Greer Stadium bringing cheer, games, and giveaways as part of its 8,500-mile, cross-country trip that will include visits to Minor League Baseball games around the U.S.

The series continues on Saturday with a pair of seven-inning games against New Orleans, with the first game of the doubleheader starting at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for Saturday's date include admission to both games of the twinbill.

Park rangers will be in attendance along with varying animals to visit on the concourse before and during the game for Tennessee State Parks Night. Saturday's game also brings another amazing post-game fireworks display sponsored by your local Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealers.

The series finale will be on Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. A Sunday home game means another Purity Sundae Sunday, with $1 ice cream sundaes at Greer Stadium, and the IHOP crew will be on hand for one more game before continuing their cross-country road trip.

Following the homestand, Sounds catcher Vinny Rottino and pitcher Lindsay Gulin will join manager Frank Kremblas and trainer Jeff Paxson at the 2008 Triple-A All-Star Game in Louisville on Wednesday, July 16.

After four days off for the All-Star break, the Sounds will return to action on July 18 for a three-game series at Iowa, and they will return home to Greer Stadium on July 22 for an eight-game homestand against the Tacoma Rainiers and Portland Beavers.

Individual and season tickets, as well as group packages, are currently on sale. Call (615) 242-4371 ext. 2 or visit the Sounds' website at www.nashvillesounds.com to order or for more information.
