Connecticut Defenders News Release

NORWICH, CT- With the cost of everyday living rising, particularly the cost of gasoline, the CT Defenders are fighting back in an effort to make games more affordable for their fans. Every home Monday, all Reserve tickets will be priced according to the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline.

"Travel costs are a burden for everybody. The cost of gasoline is unconscionable and we want to provide relief for our fans. Value is our mantra and we will continue to find ways to provide inexpensive family entertainment for our fans at Dodd Stadium," said General Manager Charlie Dowd.

A gallon of gas has reached $4 per gallon, which by all estimations is an absurdity. But, a $4 ticket to a Defenders game is by all estimations a steal. Every week that the Defenders play at home on a Monday, the price of a reserve ticket will be tied to the average price of a gallon of regular gas in CT, as determined by AAA of CT. The ticket price will be rounded off to the nearest quarter, for example, if the average cost is 3.85, a ticket will cost $3.75, if it is $3.86, it will be $4.

The Defenders return home from a 6 day road-trip this coming Monday, May 19th, 2008 to face the Binghamton Mets at 6:35pm. This will be the first day of this new promotion and will piggy back $1 Hummel hot dogs as well as MySpace Monday where friends receive a special discount on the bulletin board.

For more information or to purchase tickets call the Defenders office at (860)-887-7962 or visit on the web at www.ctdefenders.com.
