Admirals Sign LW Andy Contois to PTO

TAMPA, FL - Norfolk Admirals General Manager Claude Loiselle today announced that the Admirals have signed left wing Andy Contois (KON-toyz) to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Contois, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound left wing from Marquette, Michigan, was an ECHL All-Star this season, winning the event's fastest skater competition and scoring one goal and one assist in the All-Star Game.
The 27-year-old was acquired by the Admirals' ECHL affiliate, the Mississippi Sea Wolves, on February 20 from the Stockton Thunder. In nine games with the Sea Wolves, Contois has one goal and three assists with six penalty minutes.
In 60 ECHL games this season between Stockton and Mississippi, Contois has 17 goals and 30 assists with 50 penalty minutes. In 137 career ECHL games with Mississippi, Stockton, the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Idaho Steelheads, Contois has 37 goals and 57 assists with 106 penalty minutes.
Contois is a third-year pro out of Northern Michigan University. He is expected to make his American Hockey League debut on Wednesday against the Providence Bruins.
The Admirals will continue an eight-game homestand on Wednesday when they entertain the Providence Bruins for a 7:15 tilt. Wednesday night is also Baxter's College Night. Students with a valid, current college ID can receive $8 tickets and discounted food at Baxter's Sports Lounge for Wednesday night games throughout the season.
