Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that wives and girlfriends of Falcons players will be taking part in the March of Dimes Walk in Forest Park set for Saturday, April 19 starting at 10 am. Individuals interested in either taking part in the walk or sponsoring the Falcons team can due so by logging onto www.marchforbabies.org under Falcons Team or by calling 413-739-3344.

Over the past seven decades, millions of babies have been saved from death or disability thanks to advances made by March of Dimes-funded scientists. Every year, 500,000 babies are born prematurely and 150,000 are born with birth defects.

The Falcons wives and girlfriends have been busy making their own mark in the Pioneer Valley Community. Recently, the wives and girlfriends delivered items they collected to the YWCA of Western MA. The collection drive, supported by The MRI Center, was held at Falcons home games from December 28-January 5th and benefited the Teens and Abused Women being assisted by the YWCA of Western MA.

The wives and girlfriends also collected food at Thanksgiving, and joined the US Marines for Toys for Tots at Christmas. On February 8, they also assisted with the collection of goods for active military members as part of the Falcons' "Break out the Blue" night honoring all military members.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday night when they host the Manchester Monarchs at the MassMutual Center with a one point lead for fourth place in the Atlantic Division. Single game tickets are on sale at the MassMutual Center Box Office and online at ticketmaster.com. MassMutual Center Box Office hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday 10am - 4 pm, or four hours prior to an event. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 413-787-6600.
