Marlies Reassign Reid Cashman to Columbia

Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that defenceman Reid Cashman has been reassigned to the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL.

Cashman, a 6'2, 205-pound defenceman has appeared in eight games this season with the Marlies, including three games since being recalled on March 1. He registered an assist and four penalty minutes on March 5 at Grand Rapids. In eight games with the Marlies this season, the 25 year-old defenceman has recorded three assists, eight penalty minutes and a plus-two rating.

Cashman has skated in 35 games this season with the Columbia Inferno, recording 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) and 20 penalty minutes. The Red Wing, Minnesota native has registered four multi-assist games this season with Columbia and recorded 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in the month of February.

The Marlies travel to Grand Rapids - AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings - to face the Griffins on Wednesday, March 19 for

a 7:00 p.m. contest. Toronto begins a home-and-home series this weekend against the Hamilton Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the

Montreal Canadiens - on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. The Marlies return to Ricoh Coliseum on Saturday to take on the
