Fox gets called up to Albany of AHL

FLINT, MI - For the second time in less than two weeks, the Flint Generals have had one of their own called up to the American Hockey League.

Forward Jordan Fox was called up today to the Albany River Rats of the AHL and will make is debut tonight in Portland against the Portland Pirates.

Fox, 23, is in his second season with the Flint Generals of the IHL and is looking to make his AHL debut. Last season, the Kirkwood, Missouri native's first year as a professional, he scored 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) and 95 penalty minutes in 74 games for Flint, helping the Generals make the playoffs. Fox finished the season ranked second on the team in games played, fifth in penalty minutes and ninth in points. He played two seasons of Division I college hockey at Merrimack College of Hockey East, along with three years of junior hockey in the USHL and NAHL.

Last week rookie defenseman Brett Westgarth was called up by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League and has already played in four games. He is expected to play tonight when Iowa hosts the Milwaukee Admirals.
