Portland, ME - The Binghamton Mets scored 11 unanswered runs to complete a four-game sweep of the Portland Sea Dogs, 12-6 on Mother's Day at Hadlock Field in front of 5,024. Portland finishes their homestand at 4-4 after sweeping the Trenton Thunder in a four-game series from May 7-9. The Mets have taken 7 of 10 from Portland, including six of the last seven.
Tim McNabb (2-0) earned the victory for Binghamton with two and 2/3 scoreless innings. The B-Mets' bullpen worked six scoreless innings, yielding four hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
Kyle Jackson (3-2) gave up five runs (three earned) in one and 2/3 innings to take the loss for Portland. The Sea Dogs bullpen allowed nine runs on seven hits and two hit batters. Beau Vaughan surrendered four runs on five hits in one and 1/3 innings of relief work.
Andrew Pinckney went 2-for-4 and knocked in 2 runs for the Sea Dogs. Iggy Suarez blasted his first Double-A home run - a two-run shot over the Maine Monster in the second inning. Cory Keylor had two hits, including his third triple of the season.
Andrew Dobies took a no-decision for Portland, pitching five innings, yielding eight hits and three runs. Binghamton took a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Mark Kiger (3 RBI) in the second inning. Portland stormed right back in their second inning to score four runs off Ricardo Morales on Pinckney's two-run double and Suarez's home run. In the third inning, the Sea Dogs scored twice on Cory Keylor's triple and Dusty Brown's sacrifice fly.
The Mets took over the game in the seventh inning with six 2-out runs off Jackson and Vaughan. Mark Kiger and Caleb Stewart had two-run singles to give Binghamton an 11-6 advantage. The Mets added the final run of the series in the eighth inning on a two-out run-scoring single by Coles.
Portland (15-15) has Monday off before starting a 10-day roadtrip on Tuesday night in Altoona. Binghamton (13-20) continues their 11-game road swing on Monday night in Connecticut.
