Wolf Pack Sign Kveton and Owens to ATOs

Hartford, CT: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced that the Wolf Pack have signed right wing David Kveton and left wing Jordan Owens to Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreements, effective yesterday.

Kveton, a fourth-round draft pick (104th overall) by the parent New York Rangers in 2006, recently completed his season with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where the 19-year-old winger appeared in 31 games, tallying five goals and 27 assists for 32 points along with 17 penalty minutes. The 5-11, 183-pound native of Novy Jicin, Czech Republic skated for the Czech Republic team in the World Under-18 Championships in both 2005 (7 GP, 4-2-6, 4 PIM, led team in goals) and 2006 (7 GP, 2-5-7, 2 PIM, led team in points and assists).

Owens just completed his third season with the Mississauga IceDogs of the OHL, where the 6-0, 170-pound winger registered 32 goals and 42 assists for 74 points in 60 games, along with a +17 rating and 51 penalty minutes. This was good for fourth-best in assists on the Mississauga squad and fifth in goals and points. The 20-year-old forward, who hails from Toronto, Ontario, led the Mississauga team in goals in 2005-06 and tied for team lead in points. Owens also skated for the Eastern Conference team in the 2005-06 OHL All-Star Classic, where he notched 1-1-2 and a +2 rating.
