Ice Pilots announce a couple of roster moves prior to road trip

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL announced today (Tuesday) a couple of roster moves prior to their road trip to South Florida this weekend.

The Ice Pilots acquired forward Dan Riedel from the Toledo Storm. In five games with the Storm, Riedel had two assists. The rookie from Rochester Hills, Michigan also played in 10 games with the Phoenix Road Runners. The 5-foot, 9- inch, 177 pound right winger played at Ferris State University where he picked up 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points in 34 games.

In a separate transaction, the Ice Pilots were involved in a three way trade with the Phoenix Road Runners and the Charlotte Checkers. Ice Pilots defenseman Niko Tuomi was sent to the Road Runners to complete the Michael Mole trade from the beginning of the season. Tuomi was then sent to the Charlotte Checkers to complete an earlier trade between themselves and the Road Runners.

The Pensacola Ice Pilots return to action this Friday and Saturday when they visit the Florida Everblades at Germain Arena for the final time this season. Fans can tune into both games on Classic Country AM1620, beginning with Ice Pilots Countdown to Face-off at 6:15 pm central time on Friday and Saturday, with the play by play to follow at 6:30 pm with Denis J. Puska.

The game is also streamed live at www.icepilots.com powered by Sportsjuice and video coverage is provided by the B2 Networks, and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the games.
