Steve Lomasney smacked a two-run homer off Edgar Martinez (1-1) in the top of the ninth inning, lifting the Rock Cats past the Sea Dogs, 6-5 on Saturday afternoon at Hadlock Field. Portland suffered their second straight loss and their first when leading after eight innings at Hadlock Field.

Justin Olson (2-2) worked two and 2/3 scoreless innings to pick up the victory for New Britain. Levale Speigner pitched the ninth inning to lock up his fourth save of the season.

The Sea Dogs grabbed an early lead with two first inning runs off Rock Cats' starter Adam Harben. Chad Spann doubled in the game's first tally and Brandon Moss added an RBI ground out.

New Britain came right back in the second inning off Jose Vaquedano, scoring four times off the righthander - only two runs were earned. A throwing error by first baseman Jeremy West led to New Britain's first run. Felix Molina, Lomasney and Denard Span added RBI's.

In the sixth inning, Portland grabbed their second lead of the afternoon with two runs off John Thomas. Zach Borowiak tied the game with a line drive off the shortstop's glove and Jeremy West gave the 'Dogs the advantage with an RBI fielder's choice.

Mike Bumatay was in line for the win before the blast by Lomasney in the ninth. The lefty worked two and 2/3 scoreless innings on one hit and fanning one.

Notes...Portland is now 21-2 when leading after eight innings, suffering their first loss when leading after eight at home...Keoni De Renne, Tyler Minges, and Matt Van Der Bosch had two hits...All five earned runs allowed by Martinez have come on homers.
