Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Philadelphia Phillies catcher Mike Lieberthal, out with a bruised right knee, will play for Reading on a Major League Rehab Assignment on Saturday, possibly Sunday as well. Saturday's game starts at 7:05 PM and Sunday is a 6:35 start. The Reading Phillies are playing the Connecticut Defenders (Giants).
Lieberthal, a first round pick in 1990 and an R-Phil in 1992, has been on the disabled list since May 5. He was hitting .297 in 20 games for the Phillies.
He is a member of the Reading Baseball Hall of Fame.
