Miners Add Shortstop Evan Berkey from Pioneer League

February 26, 2026 - The Sussex County Miners have signed Evan Berkey, adding an emerging infielder for the upcoming season. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of La Quinta, CA, throws and bats right-handed and can play shortstop, second base, and third base. Last season, the 26-year-old boasted a .355 batting average with the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers (now Freebirds) of the Pioneer League. Kellen Brothers Returns to Sussex County

February 19, 2026 - The Sussex County Miners are pleased to announce that pitcher Kellen Brothers has re-signed for the 2026 season. Last season, the 6'3" right-hander from Gridley, CA, started 18 games for the Miners. He went 8-5 with a 4.50 ERA and struck out 80 batters. Kellen was second on the team in starts (18), innings pitched (104), and wins (8, tied for fourth place in the Frontier League). Miners Bring Back Hunter D'Amato

February 4, 2026 - The Sussex County Miners are pleased to announce that infielder Hunter D'Amato has re-signed for the 2026 season. The 24-year-old Florida native signed his first professional contract with the Miners in 2024 and hit .286 in his second season. He led the team in runs scored (87), walks (53), sacrifice hits (12), and stolen bases (26). D'Amato was tied for first in games played (93) and second in hits (107). Gabriel Maciel Re-Signs with Miners

January 29, 2026 - The Sussex County Miners are pleased to announce that outfielder Gabriel Maciel has re-signed for the 2026 season. Maciel enters his third year with the Miners, bringing back the stellar offense and defense he flashed for the East Division champions in 2025. The 27-year-old Brazilian native led the team with a .385 batting average and dazzled with web-gem outfield plays.
