Des Moines, Iowa - Brad Snyder blasted a tenth inning solo home run to give the Iowa Cubs a 1-0 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs in front of 7,069 fans at Principal Park. A classic pitcher's duel as the two teams cruised through nine scoreless innings. Z's starter Adalberto Mendez pitched seven scoreless innings allowing three hits on 74 pitches. He was lifted in favor of a pinch hitter. I-Cubs starter Robert Coello worked eight scoreless innings and struck-out 7 batters while allowing 4 hits. Iowa threatened in the ninth inning with the benefit of a single and two walks, Dustin Richardson worked out of the inning. Scott Maine earned the win for the Cubs; he pitched two innings and struck-out 5. Snyder pinched hit for Maine in the tenth inning with one out and deposited the 3-1 pitch over the centerfield wall.

Game Notes - The Z's scored a season high 11 runs on Friday and on Saturday were shutout for the first time this season. The Zephyrs fell to 3-2 in extra-inning games. The Marlins promoted Burke Badenhop on Saturday and the Z's added Garrett Parcell from Class AA Jacksonville.
