The Oklahoma Redhawks won their third consecutive game defeating the Zephyrs 10-1 on Saturday evening at AT&T Ballpark. The Redhawks scored a run in the second inning, added another in the third and scored four in the fourth sending eight batters to the plate. The Redhawks pitching staff silenced the Zephyrs bats allowing one run on four hits. Mike Wood pitched seven innings and earned the win. New Orleans starter Jason Vargas suffered his second consecutive defeat on the roadtrip pitching a season low four innings and allowed six runs on seven hits. Victor Diaz had two more RBI in the game, he has driven in eight runs in the series. New Orleans lone run was scored in the fifth inning on a Mike Difelice RBI. The Zephyrs struckout 13 times in the game. The Redhawks lead the series 3-0 and have scored the Zephyrs 26-5 in the series.
Game Notes: Ruben Gotay eight game hit streak was snapped and Chip Ambres had a four game hit streak stopped.
Coming Up: The Zephyrs (12-11) and Oklahoma Redhawks (12-10) will meet on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Ballpark in Oklahoma City at 2:05. New Orleans will start Jorge Sosa (3-0, 1.38) against Alfredo Simon (1-2, 3.55). Radio: WIST AM 690
