Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 19, 2006) - On Sunday, September 24, the Long Island Ducks and Pepsi will host their annual fan appreciation day at Citibank Park. Highlighting the 1:35 p.m. contest with the Camden Riversharks will be the world famous Zooperstars!

"We have the best fans in all of baseball that come out and root us on every night," says Ducks general manager Michael Hirsch. "This will be a special afternoon where we get to thank them for all their support."

The loveable, bouncing characters that pool their names from both the sports world and animal kingdom will perform their zany antics during the game's inning breaks. These characters will do moves ranging from back flips and dancing to eating the opposing team's third base coach! Last season, fans at Citibank Park were treated to the game calls of Harry Canary, while Clammy Sosa swallowed one of our bat boys.

The afternoon's festivities will begin with a pregame autograph session on the field where fans will have the chance to get all of their favorite Ducks autographs. Following the autograph session, the Ducks will honor the Good Samaritans of the Week, who were selected by Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and B-103 throughout the season. Host families will also be recognized for welcoming Ducks players into their homes for the duration of the 2006 season. After all of the ceremonies, the club will use a mixture of past and present to get the game underway as both the Two Millionth Fan, Gerard Borgo, and Three Millionth Fan, Christine Seery, will toss out first pitches. That afternoon, the Ducks will also be handing out copies of both editions of this season's Duck Call magazines.

Tickets for this and all Ducks regular season and playoff home games can be purchased by stopping by the Citibank Park Box Office in person (M-F, 10-6; Saturdays 10-2), visiting www.liducks.com or by calling 631-940-TIXX today.

The Long Island Ducks are in their seventh season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. They have averaged over 100 percent attendance capacity of 6,002-seat Citibank Park in each of their first six seasons and are one of the most successful minor league sports franchises in the country.
