Zimmerman Wins Fourth Straight; Aviators Win 6-4

LOVES PARK, IL- The Rockford Aviators (30-40), presented by Pearson, used a huge fifth inning to erase a 4-0 deficit and beat the the Lake Erie Crushers (38-32), 6-4.

The Crushers scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings to give them a early 4-0 advantage.

Ryan Zimmerman got the start for the Aviators. He pitched six innings, allowing six hits and four runs. Zimmerman picked up his fourth straight win for the Aviators.

Making his professional debut tonight, Crusher's pitcher Andy Roberts cruised through the first four innings for the Crushers. He allowed just one hit through four innings, but ran into trouble in the fifth.

Ryan Breen hit a solo shot to put the Aviators on the board. Following the bomb, the Aviators rattled off five consecutive hits, that included two singles, two doubles and a triple.

Tanner Witt hit a RBI ground out that scored Edgar Corcino from third. That run was the icing on the cake as the Aviators' six-run fifth inning propelled them to the 6-4 victory.

The Aviators will continue their series against the Crushers tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Aviators fans will want to come to the ballpark to enjoy $1 domestic drafts and $2 domestic bottles throughout the game courtesy of our friends at Oscar's Pub & Grill and 97ZOK.
