
Zephyrs Win Series Defeat OKC 10-8

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - Kyle Skipworth drove home four runs including a third inning three run home run as the New Orleans Zephyrs defeated Oklahoma City 10-8. The Zephyrs win the series taking three of four and pull with one and a half games of first place.
The Zephyrs offense stole the headline with ten runs on 14 hits but the bullpen pitched another strong game and earned the win. Starter Elih Villanueva got shelled lasting an inning and a third allowing six runs on seven hits. Edgar Olmos (1-1) quieted down the Redhawks working three and two thirds and allowed one run on two hits. The pen worked 7.2 innings and allowed just two runs.
The Z's scored runs in each of the first five innings and everyone in the line-up had at least one hit. Jake Marisnick finished with three hits including two doubles and a triple and two RBI.
Redhawks starter Asher Wojciechowski (0-2) allowed eight runs in 3.2 innings and suffered the defeat. The Redhawks climbed back into the game but Arquemedes Caminero got the final four outs for his second consecutive save.
The Zephyrs hammered two home runs and have now homered in six consecutive games and ten of their last 11 games.
The Zephyrs return home for a three game series. The Zephyrs and Redbirds play Friday (7:00) at Zephyr Field.
