
Zephyrs Get Swept in Doubleheader

MEMPHIS, Tennessee - Travis Tartamella drilled a bases loaded single into left field and the Memphis Redbirds walked off winners 5-4 in the night cap. The Redbirds swept the doubleheader winning the first game 9-2.
The Zephyrs have played a pair of doubleheaders this season and have been swept in both contests.
In game one the Redbirds jumped on the Zephyrs scoring four first inning runs, Memphis added five runs in the second on their way to a 9-2 win.
In game two the Redbirds scored a run in the first inning. The Zephyrs tied the game in the second inning. Jamie Romak homered in the third and Memphis grabbed a 4-1 lead. The Z's would strike for three runs in the sixth inning to tie the game. Kevin Kouzmanoff drilled a 2 run pinch hit.
Memphis loaded the bases in the ninth inning and Tartamella drilled the first pitch to walk off winners.
Game Notes - Bryan Petersen eight game hit streak was snapped in game one of the doubleheader.
Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Redbirds will play the fourth game of the five game series on Wednesday at 7:05. New Orleans will start LH Brian Flynn (2-5, 4.09) against RH Carlos Martinez (0-0, 0.79). RADIO: WMTI 106.1 FM "The Ticket"
