Zephyrs Get Solid Outing from Urena in New Orleans' 4-1 Win in Nashville

Nashville, TN - Jose Urena pitched seven innings allowed one run on six hits and improved to 4-0 as the New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the Nashville Sounds 4-1 at First Tennessee Park.

The Zephyrs improved to 5-0 in games that Urena has started and the 23 year old right hander 1.21 ERA is the best in the PCL.

Vinny Rottino led off the fourth inning with a single and scored on a two out infield hit by Scott Sizemore. The Sounds answered with a run in the home half of the fourth. Austin Wates singled to lead off the fifth inning and scored on a single from Miguel Rojas to give the Z's a 2-1 advantage.

The Z's added a pair of runs off of switch pitcher Pat Venditte in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 4-1.

Nashville starter Brad Mills took the defeat working six innings allowing two runs on six hits. He falls to 0-4 in eight career starts against the Zephyrs.

Z's lead the series to two games to one.

GAME NOTES

Vinny Rottino had a base-hit and now has reached safely in 17 consecutive road contests. The Zephyrs are now 11-6 in the month of May.

The Zephyrs continue the four game road trip in Nashville Tuesday night at 7:05. The Z's will start LH Adam Conley (3-2, 3.89) against RH Chris Bassitt (1-2, 4.74) Radio: WMTI 106.1 FM.
