
Zephyrs Conclude 2014 Season this Weekend

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs bring their 2014 season to a close with a five-game set against the Memphis Redbirds, including postgame fireworks on Friday and Sunday nights.
Entering the final series of the year, Zephyrs outfielder Kyle Jensen is tied for the league lead with 88 RBI, attempting to become the first player in team history to lead the PCL in runs batted in. The Z's are in search of a third consecutive non-losing season for the first time in franchise history, and must do so against the first-place Redbirds. Memphis, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, carries a two-game lead in the division with six games remaining.

Thursday 7 PM: RH Anthony DeSclafani (2-3, 2.84) vs. LH Jonathan Cornelius (0-1, 3.38)
Friday 7 PM: LH Brian Flynn (8-9, 4.05) vs. LH Marco Gonzales (4-1, 3.35)
Saturday 6 PM: RH Alex Sanabia (7-5, 4.74) vs. RH Zach Petrick (7-6, 4.62)
Sunday 6 PM: RH Elih Villanueva (10-10, 4.47) vs. RH Boone Whiting (4-6, 4.05)
Monday 1 PM: LH Andrew Heaney (5-4, 3.79) vs. LH Tim Cooney (13-6, 3.55)
The season's final weekend festivities begin with Thirsty Thursday sponsored by Budweiser, with specials on beers and Pepsi products. The final Boomtown Casino Boom Night follows Friday's game, and the Zephyrs will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Forrest Gump. Saturday is Baseball Bingo, where fans can play along with the action on the field to win prizes from Treasure Chest Casino.
Sunday's Kids Day has a 6 p.m. start time for Fan Appreciation Day, featuring special giveaways throughout the night and the final fireworks show of the year. The Zephyrs will also be auctioning away the camouflage jerseys worn by the players during Sunday home games all year, with the proceeds going to Budweiser's Folds of Honor for families of military men and women who have been killed or disabled in action. The regular season concludes on Labor Day with a 1 p.m. matinee, offering two free tickets for all military personnel.
