Tacoma, WA- The Chicago Cubs recalled OF Jorge Soler and INF Logan Watkins today after placing outfielders Justin Ruggiano and Ryan Sweeney on the disabled list. INF David Bote joins the I-Cubs today from short-season Boise and is available for tonight's series finale in Tacoma.
Soler batted .282 (31-for-110) with 11 doubles, a triple, eight home runs, and 29 RBI in 32 games since joining Iowa on July 23. He leaves the team on a five-game hitting streak that included a career-high five-hit game on August 23 at Reno. Soler is the eighth player to get called up from Iowa to make his major league debut with Chicago this year joining: Arismendy Alcantara, Javy Baez, Dallas Beeler, Kyle Hendricks, Neil Ramirez, Matt Szczur, and Tsuyoshi Wada. Baseball America rated Soler as the fifth-best prospect in the Cubs' system entering this season.

The Cubs drafted Bote in the 18th round of the 2012 draft out of Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas.
